Dream within a dream (say what?)

Have you ever experience a situation in which you are having a bad dream and wakes-up but much to your dismay realized a little bit later that you were still dreaming and finally wakes-up in reality? It sounds a bit odd and almost impossible don't you think? Well, there is a movie that conveys the situation stated above. Guess what?? Yes, ''Inception'' which was release July 16th 2010 with Leonardo DiCaprio and many more. But why write about this now?

Since the movie was released, I always wanted to watch it. But I forgot about it as times went by, until today (August 20,2011). It was on channel HBOHD and I simply recorded it! And I am not disappointed at all. What is inception anyway? I did a little research.

The oxford dictionary defined inception as the beginning of something, such as an undertaking; an initiation. Others define inception as a date on which something was introduced or started.Inception is an idea implanted in someone’s head that can probably change his perception towards something and thus their lives. The movie describes it this way "Inception is so strong that it spreads like a virus, but yet it starts with a small and simple idea." And the movie defines inception "simply as our subconscious and how it reacts or belives certain things." Basically inception can come from a story, or a song or a movie or even a human being that will change the way we perceive/see things subconsciously without knowing that we are being affected by it.

Inception is the process of putting/embedding the idea into ones mind. Inceptor is the one who puts/embed the idea.  Inceptee is the one recieving the idea. If you really think about it, this stuffs are true. It's just the name that was change. If you teach a child an idea (it could be anything) you can tell whose what, right? But as for the plot or story of the movie 'inception',which is about consciously or purposely dreaming within a dream and still dream within that dream is not true. Relax, it was just the projection of the directors idea or understanding of the idea of inception. That is why it was labeled 'sci-fi', partly true but 'mostly exaggerations and just creative expressions'.

If you like to watch mind confusing stuffs and you like to work your brain while watching a movie or simply to be entertained, I recommend that you watch INCEPTION. Rated PG-13. The mystery was fun.

Try to face a mirror in front of you and in the back and tell me what you see. ..

An Eye Witness for an 'Awesome Meteor Shower Display'

This blog is an update to my previous blog "Perseids Meteor Shower, is it real?".

It was 11:00pm and I asked my mom if she would like to come with us and observe. She had no idea what I was talking about, so I made her read my blog. Too bad, that my blog did'nt boost her energy up, she said, NO! I was thinking of where should we stay to see the display better. I thought of the motor home, and so I asked John (my stepdad) if we can. Again, too bad,  he didn't let us because he thought we might break the roof of the motor home and hurt ourselves if  we stay up all night. Hahaha ☺. But he said something about trying the roof of the house. Thats it! At 11:30pm my sister and I got the things that we needed to make it to the roof. We had these set-up

in an attempt to make it on the roof. Yet again, too bad, WE FAILED.

My sister saw a meteor! I was desperate to settle on a place to see one too! There! we decided to stay on the frontyard. We lay down and stared at the sky. -tic-toc-tic-toc-. A shooting star! My sister already saw 7 shooting stars (meteors) and me? Oh well! NONE.

It is a lot harder than I thought it would be. And I mean A LOT HARDER.  I didn't really realize how wide and huge the sky was until then . I could stare at the sky all night and not even see one. My neck already hurt and it was cold. I was thinking of giving up when a shooting star passed by on the direction I was looking at. Hoo-Ray! It made me pretty excited. 1 hour later, I was getting sleepy and suggested that we move to the backyard and stay on the trampoline.

It was fun observing the meteors flying across the sky and I already saw 9 of them and I really wanted to see more clear shooting stars! But my eyes were getting tired and I told my sister I will be sleeping. I am not good at star gazing and shooting star observing  and my sister was really good! She saw more than 22 I guess. Good for her though and also for me (eventhough I only saw 9) atleast I saw and witness the trueness of the perseids meteor shower.

Now I can totally say as an eye witness that 'The Perseids Meteor Shower" is true. Proving God's sovereignty and how powerful, creative and limitless He is.

Have you witness this event too?

'Perseid Meteor Shower' is it real?

I was curious about this kind of meteor shower I read online. I was doubtful about it. I searched it on google right away and this is  what I found.

The Perseids (play /ˈpɜrs.ɨdz/) is the name of a prolific meteor associated with the comet Swift-Tuttle. The Perseids are so-called because the point they appear to come from, called the radiant, lies in the constellation.  PeseusThe name derives in part from the word Perseides (Περσείδες), a term found in Greek mythology referring to the sons of Perseus. The stream of debris is called the Perseid cloud and stretches along the orbit of the comet Swift-Tuttle. The cloud consists of particles ejected by the comet as it travels on its 130-year orbit. Most of the dust in the cloud today is around a thousand years old. However, there is also a relatively young filament of dust in the stream that was pulled off the comet in 1862.
The shower is visible from mid-July each year, with the peak in activity being between August 9 and 14, depending on the particular location of the stream. During the peak, the rate of meteors reaches 60 or more per hour. They can be seen all across the sky, but because of the path of Swift-Tuttle's orbit, Perseids are primarily visible in the northern hemisphere. As with all meteor showers, the rate is greatest in the pre-dawn hours, since the side of the Earth nearest to turning into the sun scoops up more meteors as the Earth moves through space.

This year (2011) it is expected to hit its peak activity in the overnight hours of Friday and Saturday (Aug. 13)as the International Space Station flies across the sky above many U.S. cities. While the full moon of August may interfere with the meteor display, the best time to catch the pretty light show (weather permitting) is during the predawn hours, especially on Saturday morning, experts at NASA advise.

It got my mind thinking if it is really real or just some theory about something unreliable. As for the question if it is real? We'll  about to find out tonight (august 12,2011). Me and my sister will stay up all night and witness if it is a real wonder or just an unproven theory. You can too, if the weather in your area  permits a clear skies. It is thrilling to discover how true this will be. And if it is,, no doubt, God has a unique and greatest-above-and-beyond creation in the whole wide universe. Don't you want to be a part of this wonderful event and be inspired and witness God's awesome creation? I am hoping for the best experience to all of us.

If you couldn't see or experience this wonderful event tonight and you actually tried? Atleast you had fun with your friend, family or acquaintance waiting for the 'Perseid Meteor Shower' to arrive.

Forgive and Forget

Isn't it easier said than done? Well, I'm assuming that nobody would disagree with that. A lot of times it seems that we feel that some people take pleasure when we are having a hard time or difficulties (or atleast I know I do). It is really not a pleasant feeling at all and you try your best to just ignore it. But are we ignoring the mistakes or sin of that particular person and letting it all go or are we ignoring it but still wait till our glass of patience becomes full and just decide that we are not gonna let it go?
Well, let me share what I learned from this talk that I have heard last month July 24, 2011- Sunday Public Talk. It was entitled "Do You Harbor Resentment or Do You Forgive?"

I had no idea what harbor and resentment meant at that time (I don't have much of an english vocabulary words anyways ^^, ). The good thing was that the speaker explained what those words mean so that was a plus right there.
Resentment- more than an anger, it is more of grinding ones teeth.
Harbor- to provide a place of protection.
So it was laid easy for me. With a snap of a finger, right there and there, I understand what the title really means. "Do you provide a place of protection for your raging anger or do you forgive?". That's how I saw the title.
The speaker was very good and he made me relate to what he was talking. I harbor resentment myself, I'm not gonna hide it, so the talk really struck me. And it was refreshing and enlightening.

Let me just list what thought I liked from the talk and got stuck on my head.::
(I turned the thought into a first person so that I could really put myself on the situation)

* I DO NOT have the right to harbor resentment because my imperfection is as big or bigger than the person I am resenting.

* If I am offended and I take offensive actions or vengeance, I am being stupid. → [Ecclesiastes. 7:9]

* Jehovah God is looking for opportunities to forgive me, and I should too.-- [Psalms 103:9→ He will not for all time keep finding fault]

* If I don't worry too much, then, I am not gonna get offended, remember, that I offended somebody else too.-- [ Ecclesiastes 7:21,22→ Also do not give your heart to all the words that people may speak]

* If I burst out in anger because of what my friend sin against me, it will be no longer my friend's sin but mine already and is bigger than the original sin my friend has done to me. --[ Proverbs 29:20,22→ There is more hope for someone stupid than for him who beheld a man hasty with his words.]

* Forgive the person and show it. . . I should forgive someone first to be able to apologize to them.

*FORGIVE AND FORGET- I can't forget the thing thing that was done to me by that person, but the point is I should be able to forget the pain and move on.

I realize how stupid I was to hold grudges against my friends and some of them are even older than me. I asked myself after, "what benefits does animosity has given me?". I felt aweful and very stubborn and decided to make changes.
I've been trying my best to live up with those things that I heard and I admit it is hard because I'm not used to apologizing especially when my mind is set that I have done nothing wrong. I sometimes post statuses on Facebook that I think would make them feel guilty, sorry or even angry. Like this:

"I would most definitely let her know how I feel and would somehow reveal it in a 'bold way'. Trust me, I mean 'BOLDLY' (if small thing is not gonna make her notice me and my apology)".

But after a lot of thinking on what is really my goal, I took it back and removed it. And tried not to post double meaning messages. It is not easy but IT CAN BE DONE.
I haven't been very successful with the apologizing field with one particular person. That person still won't talk to me and I assume that person has not accepted my apologies still. What else could  I possibly do? Well, I am just wishing, hoping and praying that time would make that person's heart softer.

I hope you (the reader) realize something and benefited while reading my blog. And more power to all your efforts.

Elesi by Rivermaya (propeller)

I liked the song just recently because of the video below. It's an old song probably around 2000,well its not really old I guess, but it's not brand new either. (Oh by the way, the guy with tattoos all over his arms was the drummer of the rivermaya band in the Philippines.)

                   I
'pag automatic na ang luha
tuwing naghahating-gabi
'pag imposibleng napatawa
at 'di na madapuan ng ngiti

             chorus
kumapit ka kaya
sa akin nang ikaw ay
maitangay sa kalayaan ng ligaya
tayo na, tayo na
ika'y magtiwala sapagka't
ngayong gabi ako ang
mahiwagang elesi

                II
pag komplikado ang problema
parang relong made in japan
at para ding sandwich na
nasa lunchbox mong nawawala
nabubulok na sa isipan
          (repeat chorus)

                    III
minsan ako'y nangailangan
daglian kang lumapit sa akin
ibinulong mo kaibigan
"ako ang iyong liwanag sa dilim"
        (repeat chorus 2x)
